From the Instructor

"The martial arts are a great activity for all ages and for a variety of reasons. For children, I feel the character education and physical fitness received from our programs are the most important aspects of our unique curriculum. We strive to compliment, reinforce and support the same character principles and values that parents are teaching their kids in the home. We have witnessed great results when children are not only being taught this at an early age, but also receiving confirming instruction from sources in addition to their parents, such as our school. I also believe that proper physical fitness habits should be developed early in childhood. It allows for future physical activities to be more enjoyable and interesting for the child. It gives the child the confidence and ability to have a positive experience in a variety of endeavors, not to mention the need for regular physical exercise in maintaining optimal health. I hope all of my students will never have the need for the self-defense aspect of our program, but if they do, they will be armed with the most practical and effective means of self defense, and the self control and self discipline that must go along with such knowledge.

In addition, for adults, the added stress release, calorie burning, muscle toning, weight control aspects go right along with the additional confidence and self discipline."

-- Adam Schainblatt.

"He who heeds discipline shows the way to life,
but whoever ignores correction leads others astray."
Proverbs 10:17

The Dedication of Adam Schainblatt

Since I was a young child I was motivated to achieve and succeed in whatever I pursued. When I started the martial arts I fell in love with its powerful techniques and then later its "teachings" or "philosophy." I thought all my successes were because of my personal investment in myself through self-discipline, training, hard work or study. I was wrong. There is only one way to find peace and purpose in life and that is through God. And it is Him that I thank for all the successes and blessings that I have had and will ever have in my life.

Jesus Christ is the center of my life and I aim to lift Him up and glorify Him with all my efforts and in anything I pursue. My prayer is that God will use me, and I will use the gifts he has blessed me with, to glorify Him and to spread his Word so that those my life touches, or I come into contact with, might be saved and come to know peace with God.

ABOUT OUR YOUTH CLASSES

"What a great program!"

- Holly Walter, Mother of students, Robbie, 9 years old, and Steven, 6 years old

"Instructor Adam does a great job with the children. He is an excellent role model and his patience is incredible. This has been great for Glenn to help with focus and discipline."

- Kathy Million, mother of Glenn, 9 years old

"UMAC Falls River is an excellent program which enables a child to learn self defense and at the same time develop increased self-control, confidence and ability to focus.

My son feels that he has developed increased strength from his workouts, stretching, and practicing martial arts. As his mother, I have seen a definite improvement in his self-control both at home and at play. His teacher has also seen an improvement in his behavior at school. He has developed more confidence in his God-given abilities and talents, and has a new appreciation and respect for others. His ability to focus on the task at hand has improved, as well as his eagerness to continue progressing towards excellence! My son's experience with UMAC Falls River thus far has been beyond my expectations and I will whole heartedly recommend it to everyone."

- Stephanie Young, mother of student Adam, 8 years old

"I have been taking karate at UMAC Falls River for 1 1/2 years now, and I really love it! I have learned to have self-discipline, ways to keep my family and me safe, and I also have alot of fun, too! I look forward to my classes twice a week, and all of the other activities, such as buddy days, pizza parties, competitions, black belt club, and games we play at the end of class. Karate at UMAC Falls River is my favorite sport that I like to do!"

- Adam Young, Karate Member, age 8

"I would like to thank you for the work that you have done with my son, Matt Richards. Even after only one month of lessons we can already tell that the karate classes have had a positive effect on his coordination, self confidence and attention span. I always stay to watch during the classes, and I am very impressed with the way you work with kids. It pleases me that you teach positive values and respect, as well as providing a goal oriented environment for them to develop physical skills and self confidence. It always helps to have someone outside the home to teach these things, to reinforce what parents try so hard to do at home. I also like the camaraderie that develops between the students, regardless of their ages."

- Robert Richards, father of student Matt, 6 years old

"I am very pleased with your program thus far. Victoria, Greg and Andrew are eager to attend classes each week and I am seeing some changes in attitudes that are very pleasing. Each of their personalities are very different and I think that their karate classes are beneficial to all three of them. I am seeing Andrew's level of confidence increase as he continues to practice what he is learning and as he hears you say 'Good Job, Andrew.' Greg has a tendency to rush through things without properly learning what is being taught. Your classes are very good for him in that he is seeing that he must learn carefully and pay attention in order to progress. Victoria is also feeling more confidence in herself and her abilities as she continues with her classes. We are thrilled! Thank you."

- Sherry Kite, mother of students Victoria, 10, Greg, 8, Andrew, 6

"Stevie has really enjoyed his classes. He has shown more concentration in school and is a helpful child."

- Cindy McGarry, mother of Stevie, 11 years old

"Thank you for all you do for these children. I truly believe that God sent us to UMAC Falls River and you! Thanks again for doing Gods Will!"

- Felicia Stephens, mother of Bryson, 7 years old

"Thus far, I am thrilled with the reinforcement of Christ-Like values and the encouragement to exercise them everyday - everywhere. The strengthening of self-discipline is wonderful. We look forward to continuing this relationship and to continued positive results."

- John Eason, father of student, Derek Eason, 7 years old

ABOUT OUR ADULT PROGRAMS

"The personal attention Master Schainblatt has shown toward my personal progress has been the greatest incentive for me to continue the martial arts! The karate program is a lot of fun. His attention to detail, and his personal attention to my own progress, is what makes his school what it is. I have been going to UMAC Falls river, for over a year, and haven't had a bad experience or class yet. His teaching style is very laid back and relaxed, I don't feel I have to get it perfect the first time, and your very open to questions, which is nice. I really enjoy the self defense and find it the most effective I have seen."

- Jean Paul Berard, karate student

"Master Schainblatt is an excellent teacher. I think that he's quite a perfectionist when it comes to his own technique and his students' technique. Though this could be taken the wrong way, it shouldn't be. He does not become displeased or frustrated with his students, but he continues to correct them, make even the most minor adjustments to their stances, and always continues to bombard them with details that will make them much more effective and powerful. There is almost always a most effective, perfect way to do every single movement, no matter how trivial, and Master Schainblatt always pursues that level of technique. I feel very fortunate to be taught by Master Schainblatt. I know that someday, one way or another, I will be to far from my school to attend Master Schainblatt's classes. I think about this sometimes, and I worry that I will never find an instructor of equal quality. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with his instruction."

- Jason Goodman, karate student

"The CAT program has been great. I enjoy learning new techniques and the workout. Adam is an excellent instructor that provides positive feedback."

- Dean Hamke, CAT student

"The UMAC Falls River and Adam Schainblatt have been very helpful in helping me achieve my goals of greater strength, speed, flexibility and stamina in the martial arts. The martial arts is an excellent way to accomplish several things in one exercise curriculum. No other workout I have ever had encompasses so much of the following in a single lesson: focus, discipline, power, speed, accuracy, flexibility, strengthening, practical use, stress reduction and a team approach.

As a 1st degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do before I came to UMAC Falls River, I wanted to experience other forms of the martial arts in addition to becoming a better all around martial artist. Adam's unique style of Torite Jutsu (pressure point combat, self-defense), Tae Kwon Do (offensive kicking and blocking styles/techniques)and Karate (blocks, kicking techniques and forms) blends principals from several art forms which combine to be a good workout and an excellent form of self-defense. His one on one approach and smaller class sizes allows his students to benefit from his years of experience, more fully than comparable classes of multiple students. I applaud Adam's ability to help you "think through" the concept being taught and "try new approaches" in an industry that is often critical of any deviation from "core curriculum". I highly recommend the martial arts as a focused journey in the blending of mind, body and spirit. I also recommend Adam's approach and teaching style as a martial arts instructor."

- Don Alexander, karate student

"I feel that Master Schainblatt's classes are invaluable for adults and children. UMAC is located at Falls River Plaza just minutes away and teaches several programs for all ages. I have found his Karate program to be thorough, challenging and professional. I believe the programs at UMAC Falls River can also be very beneficial. I have been very pleased with the hands on instruction that I receive. The classes tend to be small in size and you can receive individualized attention in a very friendly atmosphere. If you have been looking for a way to stay in shape, gain flexibility and build confidence UMAC Falls River is worth a look. I highly recommend you give UMAC Falls River a try."

- William T. Dron, karate student

"I love the C.A.T. class. I learned a lot of ways to protect myself and developed a new sense of self-confidence. I believe if I were at risk I would know what to do. As a female in the class I appreciate the level of respect shown to me in a physical program that could be very intimidating and threatening. Master Schainblatt not only teaches techniques of self-defense, but also helps you develop strength and co-ordination. It's a full mental and physical work out.

Linda Craft is an excellent carido instructor and motivator. She is dedicated to giving you a full extent work-out combining both cardio and strength training while being attentive to proper form as to prevent injury. She is high spirit and energetic. When you think you just can't do anymore just look to Linda for challenge and inspiration. This is a great class for toning, strengthing and losing weight. With an improved diet and this class I lost 23 pounds in 75 days. I look better than I have in years and feel great."

- Charlotte Gatton, CAT student and Cardio Kickboxing Member

"Adam has helped me out a whole lot in my life, from the day I started he changed my life. He challenges me both spiritually, physically and mentally. He is probably one of the greatest martial arts instructors I have ever encountered and is very knowledgable about martial arts and life. He is an excellent role model for me and other people. He knows what to say and when to say it. The systems he teach work well and are very effective. Since I started the program I have become much more flexable and my timing on just about everything has increased. Great Job Adam!!!!!!"

- Bow Sineath, CAT and karate student

"Look up the word 'Genuine Person' in the dictionary and you will find Adam Schainblatt's picture. If everyone I ran across during the day were as nice and polite as Adam, all my days would be great!"

- Ed Joyner, Cardio Kickboxing Member

"I have been attending the Cardio - Bag Kick Boxing classes for well over a year. I wouldn't miss class for anything! Well, maybe I missed a few, because I was out of town. Adam is an excellent instructor and the small class size allows for a lot of personalized attention. This is the longest period of time I have stuck with any program. Thanks Adam!"

- Kathy Wosnak, Cardio Kickboxing Member

"This is the first class I have enjoyed."

- Kelly Wilson, Cardio Kickboxing Member

"Adam, I love your classes - I started to see significant results after the first 2 months. You always keep it new and exciting - your routines are great - keep it up!"

- Kim Raynor, Cardio Kickboxing Member

"I enjoy the workouts and I am thoroughly pleased with the instructors I have had so far. I noticed an immediate improvement in terms of muscle tone and development. Within the first week I was able to go from 0 to 5 push-ups. I have also noticed improved stamina and flexibility."

- Michelle Bench, Cardio Kickboxing Member

"I am overweight and my main goal was to lose weight. In three months, coming to class two times per week, I have lost eight pounds. It may not seem like a lot, but I've been on every diet and walked 2 miles a day and wasn't able to lose weight or keep it off.

My secondary goal was to gain strength and endurance and become healthier. I already see a difference. I also feel better and have more self-esteem. I'm looking forward to evaluating after a year and seeing the difference. My husband, who was skeptical at first because I've tried so many things, is impressed and notices the difference too!"

- Sandy Mills, Cardio Kickboxing Member

"I have been doing Te-Geri for approximately 3 months now - this class is by far the best way to get in or stay in shape that I have ever been involved in. It is a total body workout and I feel great after every class! I have toned up and can really feel a difference in the way my clothes fit - GREAT MOTIVATION! I also enjoy the Christian atmosphere - In my opinion the best place to keep the mind and body fit is UMAC Falls River! Thank You!"

- Ken Lawson, Jr., Cardio Kickboxing Member
